The Weekender

The past week was quite hectic for me. I had a fair amount of workload and couldn't be happier when Friday was finally coming!

So, I was supposed to go scout for an Asus netbook for Pei Yee but we decided to head to Raffles Place first. Remember I set a mission to capture all the 52 public artworks in Singapore? Raffles Place has at least three of them and to top it up, the weather was exceptionally good for photo shooting yesterday morning.

When work was done, it was time to go wander around the Riverwalk! As we were walking down the road, we noticed many muscular men and women. Ha. It was the Dragon Boat Festival at the Singapore River! We stopped by to join the spectators for a little while.

Ice-cream time! Yam roti, yummy!

Enough of fun. Next, we went to Suntec City as there was a small gadget fair. I was hoping that we may just get a good deal there but the fair was too small scaled and they did not have many brands. Guess what was happening next door? There was the Cosplay event! Cosplay stands for Costume Play. I didn't know about Cosplay before this. It is an event where anime fans dress in colorful costumes to portray their favorite anime characters.

It was half past two in the afternoon and we thought, why not head to the Botanic Gardens? The Botanic Gardens was one of the place I'd like to visit when I first got D-zai. It did not live up to our expectation, as in.. we did not find many flora. But, it was probably because we did not finish touring the whole garden. We were tired and hungry, so we went back to City Hall to try Myanmar food, recommended by my colleague. I should visit the garden again to finish the other sections :D

It is a more peaceful and healthy day today! We went for an hour jog at Yishun Park in the morning.
Monday is here again.. 加油! But, it will only be a four-day week, yeah! I'm looking forward to be home too as I have not been home for three weeks now. Hmm.. what should I get for my brother (who is sitting for his SPM now) to boost his morale? Hehe..

2012

It has been a while since we last visited the cinema. The lucky movie this time was.. 2012. I did not have any expectations at all prior to the movie. I wanted to enjoy the movie, that's all. And.. I did.

Well, the movie was not exceptionally good and was quite draggy at the beginning. The movie showcases a great deal of family ties, reminds us to appreciate our loved ones, while we still can.

Back to the story.. I actually find it quite scary. I would have never imagined end of the world would be as disastrous as this. I think.. this is somewhat scientifically possible but let's hope the galactic alignment does not happen in another few million years more :p

Enjoy the movie if you are planning to hit the cinema soon!

Fun-filled Halloween Day

Happy Halloween!

I had planned to visit Punggol Beach and Chinese Garden today. It was a day filled with unplanned and unorganised activities and to top it up, I was late this morning. I was supposed to organise the activities today but I was very busy with deadlines at work and had forgotten to check the directions to Punggol Beach. Hence, KC and I ended up with ad-hoc plans and follow-our-instincts routes.

Instead of Punggol Beach, we arrived at Punggol Jetty. The place was so deserted. We were surprised that we could still catch a bus there. There were a couple of families and some hobbyists fishing when we arrived at the jetty. We spent less than half an hour at the jetty.

After Punggol Jetty, we decided to head to Holland Village. The village presents suburban living of Singapore. We are supposed to be able to find many handicraft shops and lifestyle boutiques, but all we saw was some well-known international eateries such as Coffee Bean, Sushi Tei, Coffee Club and Crystal Jade Restaurant.

By the time we finished touring Holland Village, our legs could not take it anymore. We decided go back to Orchard Road to look for a place to rest because in less than 2 hours, we would need to head back to Holland Village for dinner with Hiew Ming. She was in Singapore with her friend today!

No sofas *sob* Ended up at TCC (The Coffee Connoisseur) for coffee and free sofas

Dinner with Hiew Ming and her friend was at Holland Drive Blk 46. She recommended that we settle at the Big D's Grill located at the basement of the flat. The food was not bad. We ordered Kurabuta Pork Loin (Hiew Ming's and friend's) and Boneless Chicken Leg (KC's and mine). We also ordered a single person's XO Fish Head Noodle from another stall there. We ate, chat, laughed and waited for the rain to stop.

That's the end of a 12-hour outing on Halloween Day. So so so tired.
Also, Happy 21st Birthday to my sister, Pei Ling, who is busy entertaining her friends now :p

Food, food and more food

Ahh.. I need to go on diet! I need to jog 10 rounds! I need to go to the gym! I need to remove those fats!

First, I had a 3-hour Japanese buffet lunch at Umai-ya. The buffet lunch at Umai-ya is highly recommended. It started as early as 11AM and you will be served by the crews there. All you need to do is to select the food and drinks, ring the bell, and someone will be there to entertain you. The next feast was a wedding dinner at Bukit Jalil Golf Club.

I can feel the fats. Diet! Diet! Diet!

The Deepavali Weekend

I travelled home for the second week this month. It was another three-day weekend. I got Monday as an off-day because Deepavali happened to fall on a Saturday. Yay!
I spent half of the time sleeping - so, so satisfying! I told Ling-cha that there will be no more spending spree but still, we went to Alamanda, Putrajaya on Sunday :-) It was supposed to be a window-shopping outing. The attendees were Ma-cha, Bit-cha, Ling-cha, Myself and D-zai.

After lunch, it was shopping time. Bit-cha got a pair of sandals, Ling-cha bought her facial cleanser and I got myself a pair of shoes. Ah.. this reminds me that I had forgotten to take a picture of my dress for Miss Tan's viewing pleasure! Next, we took a break at Starbucks before shopping continued. While the Cha's were having their drink, I took the opportunity to shoot more pictures outside Starbucks. This place brought back lots of memories. Time flies..
