Last Day of CNY 2010

28 Feb

Just got back into my flat from a tiring but fruitful weekend :-)

Firstly, I met up with Mr Allan Chuah, an ex-colleague from my first company. The main purpose of meeting up was to catch up with him and introduce a new friend to D-zai. Allan just got himself a new EOS 1000D. Hehe. Hence, we spent an hour plus at Starbucks exploring each other’s camera :D

Later at night, I met up with the usual ex-TRW colleagues gang for Lou Sang dinner. We also spent few hours playing poker after that. I did not join them for poker as I prefer to enjoy myself, lying down on Shih Wei’s long and comfortable sofa in the air-conditioned room, cuddle her pro-active puppy (unless he decides to wet me with his saliva) :D

Although I spent most of my time with friends this weekend, I was happy that he got to blend a little more with my family, especially Mom. Mom wanted me to have him at home for lunch so much. I’m glad he agreed :-) And.. he had to gulp down 2 bowls of rice (although Mom’s chicken rice was a little tasteless that day)!

When we reached Singapore, we decided to walk to Mount Faber to wait for the sunset. Actually, we wanted to practise shooting sunrise (for our KK trip) but we went for sunset instead due to time constraints. Pictures will come later.

Reminding myself that I have 3 more days to go before my trip to Kota Kinabalu! I guess I have all things checked, except for few bars of chocolates. Got to start packing tomorrow night!

So, so, so tired today. Enjoyed it nevertheless. Good night! :-)

CNY 2010 – The Extreme (Part 2)

19 Feb

..the journey continues.

And.. *drum roll*
Our main objective for visiting the Agriculture Park was..

Come, come! RM3 per hour! RM1 for every additional hour.

We were so ambitious as we wanted to go cycling for 2 hours. Little did we know that it was so, so tiring.. we did not even finish the exact first hour, we probably did 50 minutes or so hehe.

All of us had to try on various bicycles to find the most suitable one for us. We got so fed up with Ling cha for taking such a long time to test!

Fuiyoh! Bergaya kan? Getting ready to begin our expedition!

Budak kampung at Taman Padi.

Ma cha ber-jiwang at Taman Padi.

No smile? Act cool?

Cycling uphill was a very challenging task. Everyone resorted to pushing their bicycles up :D

Cycling downhill was so fun!

After the bicycle expedition, we stopped by at Uncle Vincent’s house at Seri Hartamas to collect angpows!

That was the end of my Chinese New Year holidays.. =(

CNY 2010 – The Extreme (Part 1)

19 Feb

As planned, on the second day of Chinese New Year, we woke up very early and journeyed to Shah Alam Malaysia Agriculture Park at Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam.

The night before..
Chin Pei Ling was assigned to get the maps done as none of us knows the way to Bukit Cahaya. She mailed the maps to me and I was supposed to print them out. I printed them when we got home from the late night movie the day before.
I did not really bother to look at the map – took a glimpse of it – felt that it was a little out – still didn’t bother – too tired, hit the sack straight.

Next morning, I was supposed to drive. So, I passed the map to Bit and told her to give me the direction. Halfway through, I decided to take charge. I still had a small portion of memory of the road to the Agriculture Park because my buddy, Woon Tian brought me there last year for the Skytrex Adventure. We finally reached the place at about 9:30AM. We got our entrance tickets, had breakfast at a Mamak stall there, and dashed into the Park.

Us on the tram that took us around the Park. We complained so much (about the driver) on the tram because we weren’t ‘served’. I mean, logically, there should be someone on board to introduce the place to the visitors, right? There was no stopping along the way as well except at the waiting points.

When the tram reached the peak, it made a U-turn and down the hill it went. Halfway through, we decided to get off when it stopped at a waiting point. We got bored sitting in the tram, going through the same journey another time.

The threesome doing their stuff.

The ganas one.

The naughty one. She secretly brought the pop-pops to scare the other two.. when they least noticed!

Me placing D-zai on the wooden bridge. Them getting ready.

I’m ready to press the remote now! Errr, not quite perfect…

Next shot!

Chin Pei Yee jangan buat muka! Yeah!

Macam boss.

To be continued..

CNY 2010 – The Reunion

19 Feb

The long holidays ended so quickly without me noticing.
Nevertheless, it was a fun one :-)

This year’s Chinese New Year was slightly different in that we did not do our usual extended family get-together due to our Aunt’s passing. However, we did our usual movie-day on the first day of Chinese New Year (an 11:30PM show) and this time we picked – My Astro 大日子 Woohoo! It’s a movie that will not disappoint you when you think of.. local production. We had lots of fun in the cinema. Mom began her laughing marathon as soon as the movie started. Ling cha and I went, errr?, staring at Mom.

Gong Xi Fa Cai

11 Feb

One more day to go before I journey back home to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family. Can’t wait to get this long break. Can’t wait for time to fly faster. Can’t wait to realize the ambitions that I have set for myself this year. What about you?

Ushering in the year of Tiger – Chinatown

Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year.
May the year of the Tiger brings lots of luck and happiness to you and your family.
May you receive all the courage and bravery of the Tiger (rawrrr!), to do anything that’s in your mind.

Received this gift from my landlord and his wife as I stepped into my flat after dinner yesterday. They said it was for Chinese New Year. So, so, so touched. I feel loved :-)
