I did not put too high of an expectation on Jay’s concert as we all know how well he could sing live (oops!). We wanted to attend and watch his performances for once and so, off we went.
The show began at 8:30pm sharp and ended at about 11:00pm with two rundowns. During the 3-hour performance, he belted out some newer releases as well as “antique” songs. The songs that I enjoyed most were songs from his first few CDs such as 爱在西元前, 黑色幽默, 东风破, 开不了口, and 可爱女人. I fell in love with the song 我不配 after the concert and it was most probably because the person who sat next to me, hummed along and was even louder than Jay! :-)

When we came out of the stadium, KC had complaints about the concert. He managed to get only the restricted-view seats and they were very costly. The visual and aural effects were great but we could not catch a glimpse of them at all. Little did he know that despite all the dissatisfaction, I actually enjoyed the show very much.

It seems like we’ve reached our quota this year but, but, there is one more that must not be missed!

So, so, so tired.
I was shocked to find so many things accumulated during the past 12 months.
I was particularly shocked to find 5 shoes boxes underneath my bed. That makes it a total of 9 pairs of shoes (including 3 pairs of sandals)!
I am so going to have a hard time moving these stuff to my new rented room.

Yup, 4 long months and it is finally here!
We visited the exhibition at Suntec Convention Centre last Sunday afternoon. The queue at the ticket counter was long but it was very smooth-going as the staff worked effectively, directing visitors to specific counters quickly.

There were two halls – one on level 4 and the other on level 6. We thought of giving ourselves 2 hours or so but we were stuck there for almost 4 hours! It was just a flowers exhibition with 2 small halls. We began to worry if we could even visit as many pavilions as possible during our upcoming Shanghai trip later. The Shanghai Expo 2010 covers about 500 hectares! Ahh..

Coming back to the Garden Festival.. we ain’t fans of flowers, but it seems that we do enjoy visiting exhibitions (depending on what are the exhibits lah!) and most importantly, it is a great venue for shutterbugs. Capturing nice shots in an indoor exhibition was not easy for me due to my trembling fingers. What do I do when I see a must-not-be-missed shot? Instruct my second pair of hands to capture it for me! :D

We took more than 700 shots during the 4-hour tour. It was a great show, especially the landscapes and fantasy gardens. We find the orchid garden at level 6 (corrected by an attentive reader :D) level 4 a little boring though. A very satisfying visit nevertheless!

I cannot recall how many delays that I have received and follow-ups I had to do. How hard is it to reply an email if he has been telling me there’s no problem with my request for the N-th time?!

I decided that I had given him enough patience, time and respect. I walked out of the office with my head hung low. I was absolutely down.


Then this guy (trying to swallow his Big Mac!) brought me to Mc D, a place where one could make a kid smile again and cracked all sorts of jokes although I could hardly smile :-)

Well, firstly there was nothing much to shout about in the past few weeks. Secondly, I was kind of worried about this and that. Thirdly, all the travelling, researching and etc. That made me pretty occupied and did not have time to write.

So wassup?
I am in the midst of searching for a new job opportunity, hoping to land on one before end of July as my current contract will be ending in early August. Been to three interviews thus far, have no idea how have I done, no feedbacks yet, still waiting for more calls – this is discouraging. Trying my very best (for the past month) to secure a written approval from my reporting manager on my last day of employment – this is even harder than asking the president to approve a bill!

On top of those bad stuffs, there is at least one thing that I am looking forward to – my vacation! The plan is on. The researches are in progress. I will be backpacking to Shanghai! This should be my first time arranging/planning an overseas trip myself (okay, not really 100% my effort :p). What have been done so far? Checking on the flights, planning the itinerary, checking the maps and ways to move around China, making hotel reservations and triple-checking the itinerary.

Ah, tomorrow is an important day (needs to get the president to sign my bill).
Better get to bed now ;)

I have been down with high fever last Saturday evening and have not been feeling very well since then.
My body temperature went up and down during the past few days.
I can hardly do anything. Was feeling so, so, so helpless and tired.

But, thanks to my family. They are always the best although being miles away.
Mom called every afternoon and night to check on me. Sisters spammed my mobile phone with messages. The soh lou prepared gardenia bread with kaya topping for me and some Ribena pastilles to cure my taste buds.

I am feeling much better now, although I am still barking around *cough*
I soooo missed eating rice! I haven’t had rice and coffee for the past 4-5 days!!

When I was walking back to my flat, I looked up to the sky.
It was cloudy, the sky looked more blueish today.
Suddenly felt a sense of relief.
Reason being.. project has gone live yesterday although there is 10% more of work to be done after this.
During a short coffee session with my manager this afternoon, he said,
The project would not have been as successful if you hadn’t participated.
I don’t know how true is this. Was he just trying to hold me back since I am pushing him to release me?
Recalling back to my previous employments, I have almost always received the same words but when I look at where I am now, I find it difficult to step forward.
I do not know what (and how) can I do to move, to soar higher.
