Marina Bay Sands

19 Jun

WE dropped by Marina Bay Sands last weekend (before I was down with fever). The casino at MBS is definitely few times better than Genting’s one at Resort World Sentosa.

The Sick Cat

17 Jun

That’s me!
I have been down with high fever last Saturday evening and have not been feeling very well since then.
My body temperature went up and down during the past few days.
I can hardly do anything. Was feeling so, so, so helpless and tired.

But, thanks to my family. They are always the best although being miles away.
Mom called every afternoon and night to check on me. Sisters spammed my mobile phone with messages. The soh lou prepared gardenia bread with kaya topping for me and some Ribena pastilles to cure my taste buds.

I am feeling much better now, although I am still barking around *cough*
I soooo missed eating rice! I haven’t had rice and coffee for the past 4-5 days!!

Relieved

09 Jun

Left office at 6+ today and this is considered early these days.
When I was walking back to my flat, I looked up to the sky.
It was cloudy, the sky looked more blueish today.
Suddenly felt a sense of relief.
Reason being.. project has gone live yesterday although there is 10% more of work to be done after this.
During a short coffee session with my manager this afternoon, he said,
The project would not have been as successful if you hadn’t participated.
I don’t know how true is this. Was he just trying to hold me back since I am pushing him to release me?
Recalling back to my previous employments, I have almost always received the same words but when I look at where I am now, I find it difficult to step forward.
I do not know what (and how) can I do to move, to soar higher.

Back-to-back Concerts

28-May-2010: Khalil’s Timeless Concert

Top left: our professional driver for the day; top center: our boss, relaxing at the back seat..

This is my second time enjoying a live concert at Arena of Stars and it had been a very different experience altogether.

Khalil Fong (方大同) is a great entertainer; not only did he performed CD-quality tracks on stage, but his band (including himself) played really well that night. I only got to know during the introductory message from Khalil (proves that I did not do any homework) that it would be a retro themed concert. Hence, 70 percent of the songs he picked were classics with songs ranging from Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder to John Meyer.

Comments on the concert?
My brother (his first time watching a concert) said, I know he can do better than this.
I, for one, enjoyed the band the most! Khalil brought with him a few guys who plays for Eason Chan’s concerts too. I could only recognize two of them – Jun Kung Shek Leung (恭碩良), a well-known drummer and Edward Chan, the band leader, who is also a well-known composer, arranger and producer.

05-Jun-2010: Mayday’s DNA Concert

I was never a fan of Mayday. I do not know how to appreciate their loud banging music but their performance that night really blew me away. One could see how much effort the concert director/organiser (and Mayday of course) have made. Sparks, an old yellow taxi, a full-size Bumblebee and a huge white globe were brought on stage during the show.

Special appearance by Ding Dang (丁当) brought my interest back to the concert. Having loved her song, I Love Him (我爱他), her performance that night proved that she is worth the respect :-) She performed three songs that night, one was a duet with Mayday’s lead singer, 我爱他 and 我是一只小小鸟.

Promises Don’t Come Easy

Caron Nightingale – Promises Don’t Come Easy

For how long can a promise stand?

Was listening to this song on my mp3 player whole night. So cozy (?!), so comfortable (?), puts me to bed…

P/s: I am not sure if the above lady sings alright or not (I could not find one with the original singer) because my notebook is still… a mute :p
